BS 7671:2008 incorporating amendment No1:2011

States that periodic inspection and testing of every electrical installations shall be carried out to determine whether the installation  is in a satisfactory condition for continued service to determine

 

1) Safety of persons against the effects of shock and burns

2) protection against damage to the property by fire and heat arising from an installation defect.

3) confirmation that the installation is not damaged or deteriorated so as to impair safety.

4) the identification of installation defects and departures from the requirements of the regulations that may give rise to danger.

WE CAN PROVIDE YOU WITH ALL THE RELEVANT DOCUMENTATION TO SATISFY THE REQUIREMENTS

Electricity at Work Regulations 1989

States that Electrical Safety is the duty of every employer and self-employed person. The guidance for this safety is BS7671:2008 up to and including the latest amendments.

BS 5266:part 8 2004

BS EN50172:2004

States that the owner or person who has control over the premises is responsible for a number of actions and tests in respect to the buildings emergency lighting system to insure compliance in securing the Means of Escape under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

BS 5839-1:2002 including amendment 2:2008

States that the owner or person who has control over the premises is responsible for a number of actions and tests in respect to the Fire Alarm system to insure compliance in securing the Means of Escape under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Portable Appliance Testing is also included in the above. It is required that all portable appliances be tested at regular intervals to ensure their continued safety in use.
